Typed Rolliflex list: R10-8 Biambia - honey man
The Powell-Cotton sisters met Biambia, also sometimes referred to as Antonio while staying at the village of Kanguli from the 19th to the 22nd of April 1936 and visited again in 1937, arriving on the 25th of May. (see diaries)Antoinette Powell-Cotton describes her visit to his home and meeting his two wives. Diana Powell Cotton details his role in helping them with the collecting work and organising demonstrations of local crafts.
Biambia is also their source of information for the collecting of honey. The diaries suggest that Diana offered him work travelling with them as an assistant but he was unable to leave his home at that time. [Nicola Stylianou, Making African Connections Project 04/08/2020]
