Description

Doll carved from wood and greased in lukula; spherical head and base with a cylindrical body. The face is finely carved, with inlaid ostrich eggshell eyes. It is elaborately dressed in various beads of blue, green and pearlescent colours. Wrapped around the base is an animal hide skin apron. This doll would have been given to a young girl by her father, and named by her future fiance - a name that their first-born daughter would receive.[FHM19/06/2019]
