Donated to Brighton Museum by Louisa Percival in 1907.
The Percival family of 11 Cambridge Road, Hove, donated several items to the World Art collections in the early 20th Century, from Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The 1901 census lists Hamilton Percival, his wife and three unmarried adult daughters, all 'living on their own means' and three servants. They are therefore likely to have had the resources to travel widely and collect for their own interests.
