Title
Pere Camille Laagel [Priest, Missionary]
Description
Pere Camille Laagel (1879-1956) was a Spiritain missionary who spent his career in Angola. He served in Caconda from 1908 to 1918, and Huambo from 1918 to 1938 when he met Toni and Diana Powell-Cotton. Between the two trips the sisters made he seems to have collected objects for them as well as offering them advice. He was very knowledgeable about Angolan medicine and the plants used for remedies, an interest he shared with the sisters.
