Description

Doll with wax body and head with very short arms and clay breasts. The legs are made from forked wooden sticks. Facial features are made from onjeva shell and the hair is decorated with masambala seeds [also known as eillia valla]. Cloth apron and back apron; skin belt.
According to previous cataloguing information the doll's personal name is Ongombango.

It is also recorded that Bentu is the father's name, although this is not clear [as it is written next to the name of the doll] whether that is the name of a father doll, or of the father of the little girl who owned it.

Apparently originated from "Tandean shumbo. Naioamborn m'Kunda", although this is also unclear as to whether these are people or places, or both.
