Description

Doll/baby [also known as okana] made from a core of palm leaf stripe, divided for legs, wound with string. No facial features or breasts; fibre buttocks, remains of stomach skin apron. Red and green hip belt - beaded. Very long, fibre hair bound into 'plaits' with narrow strips of palm. The hairstyle would indicate that the doll is meant to represent a female. Hairstyle is known as "Embudi" or "Embuvi". [FHM25/09/2019]
